This is why we went to Utah. Shawn graduated from college at Univ. of Utah. There were 2 ceremonies that day. The first was for all graduates. It started around 9:30. They suggested that is you wanted to attend you get there around 8 a.m. We would have loved to have been at both, but 8 a.m. is just crazy early for us. Especially when on the road.
So we opted for the 1:45 ceremony for her school. That's where they called her name and she got the case that the diploma will go in. Much better to see that anyway!
Here's the fam with the graduate. Oh, and the boyfriend, Landon. He is a good guy.
We had a great time seeing Salt Lake City. There is some nice architecture there. No really, besides the big building in the center of town. And mountains. The place is surrounded by mountains and that big lake.
We also got to see some old friends. Cara was my best friend in high school, roommate in college and maid of honor at the wedding. She married Kendall a couple years after Jack and i got married. They moved to SLC 20 years ago, thinking they would only stay a couple of years and then move on. So much for that plan. Unfortunately, we were having such a good time chatting it up we took no pictures of them. Trust me, they look great!
Sunday we left SLC for Zion. Took Shawn with us since she worked down there a couple summers ago. We enjoyed having the "tour guide" and she got a much needed, although too short, vacation. But, this is getting long, so more on all that later!
