Got an email the next morning after the auction saying who had won the cake and how much, $35. Not bad. Have to admit, was hoping in the back of my mind that whoever these folks were they would forget all about that cheesecake. I like making them. I like sharing them with people i know. I like eating them. Baking one for strangers means i don't get to enjoy 2 of those 3 things i like.
Anyway, she called last Tuesday. She was having friends over on Friday. I could say no, she told me, but was there any way she could have it that day? I said sure. What was i thinking? I asked what kind she wanted. She wanted one just like the picture of the one with the strawberries on top that was on the flyer. Great. I just grabbed that off the bing.com site. That's it over there. And when i clicked on it to see if i could get the recipe it took me to the website of the bakery that makes that particular cake. Could order it. For $35, plus shipping. Nope.
OK, so the cheesecake part is not that tough. Got that hammered out Thrs. evening. No sweat. The topping part, well, that was going to be a challenge. I've never done anything like that before. YIKES.
Well, i surprised myself. I got it done. And here is what it looked like . . .
So, if you want one just ask. It's only $35!

Would you charge me $35? I mean I'm even cute. At least that's what you keep telling me. :)
