I made this!

A few weeks ago someone from a local non-profit here in town, Friends of the Family, asked if i would make a cheesecake for their annual fundraising auction. I've done this in the past for our church's High School Mexico mission trip. I said sure, but that instead of having a cheesecake there i'd make a flyer. That way the person could order what they wanted, when they wanted it.

Got an email the next morning after the auction saying who had won the cake and how much, $35. Not bad. Have to admit, was hoping in the back of my mind that whoever these folks were they would forget all about that cheesecake. I like making them. I like sharing them with people i know. I like eating them. Baking one for strangers means i don't get to enjoy 2 of those 3 things i like.

Anyway, she called last Tuesday. She was having friends over on Friday. I could say no, she told me, but was there any way she could have it that day? I said sure. What was i thinking? I asked what kind she wanted. She wanted one just like the picture of the one with the strawberries on top that was on the flyer.
Great. I just grabbed that off the bing.com site. That's it over there. And when i clicked on it to see if i could get the recipe it took me to the website of the bakery that makes that particular cake. Could order it. For $35, plus shipping. Nope.

OK, so the cheesecake part is not that tough. Got that hammered out Thrs. evening. No sweat. The topping part, well, that was going to be a challenge. I've never done anything like that before. YIKES.

Well, i surprised myself. I got it done. And here is what it looked like . . .

Not too shabby. And the strawberries were not bad. I was happy.
So, if you want one just ask. It's only $35!

Would you charge me $35? I mean I'm even cute. At least that's what you keep telling me. :)
